The School Library is open to all pupils and staff of Lanark Grammar School.  In S1, you will be issued with a Borrower’s Card with your own unique number and this will be valid until S6.  It entitles you to borrow two items at a time from the library. 

The lending book stock in the library is divided into two main categories:

FICTION  -  fiction books are divided into Junior & Senior sections.  They are arranged alphabetically by the author’s surname.  Audio tapes are found beside the Junior Fiction and Graphic novels are beside the issue desk.

NON-FICTION  -  information resources are arranged in the same way as in Lanark Library.  Books are arranged in subjects by the Dewey Decimal number.  The library catalogue or OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) is available on the school’s computer network and there are also posters and shelf guides beside the non-fiction resources to help.
